A Perthshire motorcyclist has died following a crash involving a car on a rural Scots road.
Russell Maycock, of Dunning, was involved in a collision with a black Mazda 6 on the A97 Huntly to Dinnet road near Kildrummy on Tuesday at about 12.20pm.
The 53-year-old, who was driving a black Kawasaki, died at the scene.
Police are still looking into the cause of the collision, which took place between Mossat and Kildrummy.
The route was closed into Tuesday evening from the junction with the A944 Mossat to Tillyfourie road as officers carried out investigations.
Sergeant Peter Henderson of the force's road policing unit said: "Our inquiries into the collision are ongoing and I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and who hasn’t spoken to police to do so.
"We have officers supporting Russell’s family at this time and our thoughts are very much with them."
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 12.34pm to attend an incident on the A97 in Aberdeenshire.
“We dispatched two ambulances to the scene.”
