Perth man stuffed £3k of heroin in Kinder egg before secreting it to get it in Perth Prison

A drug dealer who went to extraordinary lengths to get into prison to deliver heroin has now been told to stay in the jail for three years.

Scott Dolan stuffed nearly £3,000 pounds worth of the drug inside a Kinder egg before secreting it to smuggle it into Perth Prison.

Dolan, 30, then set out to get himself jailed – but it took him more than 48 hours of trying.

A jury was told that he initially went to the Asda supermarket in Perth and picked up a bottle of whisky before walking out of the shop.

He then put the bottle down outside and waited, but no one came to arrest him.

Dolan then defied security staff by walking back into the store and stealing razors which he again put down outside as he waited.

When he was arrested, Dolan’s plan was foiled as the police released him on bail and made him give an undertaking to appear later in court.

Dolan was eventually arrested 48 hours later when an “anonymous” caller tipped off police that he had been spotted in a street his bail order banned him from being in.

He did finally make it inside Perth Prison, but he was caught with £2,800 worth of heroin.

Jurors found Dolan, Rannoch Road, Perth, unanimously guilty of having drugs inside the prison on October 27 2017 with intent to supply others.

Sheriff William Wood jailed him for three years.

A jury was told that he initially went to the Asda supermarket in Perth and blatantly picked up a bottle of whisky before walking out of the shop.

He then put the bottle down outside and waited, but no-one came to arrest him.

Dolan then defied security staff by walking back into the store and stealing razors which he again put down outside as he waited.

When he was eventually arrested, Dolan’s plan was foiled again as the police simply released him on bail and made him give an undertaking to appear later in court.

Determined Dolan was eventually arrested 48 hours later when an “anonymous” caller tipped off police that he had been spotted in a street his bail order banned him from being in.

The jury was told that despite the police taking around 15 minutes to show up, Dolan was still standing waiting in the street.

He did finally make it inside maximum security Perth Prison, but a thorough search was carried out and he was caught with 2,800 pounds worth of heroin.

Jurors found Dolan, Rannoch Road, Perth, unanimously guilty of having drugs inside the prison on 27 October 2017 with intent to supply others.

Sheriff William Wood noted Dolan had a lengthy record of previous convictions for drugs and offences of dishonesty and jailed him for three years.
