A man attracted passersby by waving to them from his flat window before flinging open his dressing gown to expose his naked body.

Dean McCaskill deliberately made eye contact with women before pulling open his nightwear to reveal that he was completely naked underneath.

McCaskill flashed at passersby in Kinross High Street as he stood at the window of his flat and waited for women to catch his eye.

The 32-year-old, formerly of High Street, Kinross, admitted acting in a threatening or abusive manner on September 30 by opening his dressing gown to expose his naked torso.

He also admitted intentionally exposing himself to a woman on October 12.

Sheriff Keith O’Mahony placed McCaskill, now of Jamesbank Hostel in Dunfermline, on the sex offenders register for two years and put him under social work supervision for the same period. He also placed him on a curfew for five months.

Perth Sheriff Court was told McCaskill was embarrassed by his behaviour, which he claimed came after a period of “carry-on” with the women – including waving at them.

“He accepts his actions but cannot offer an explanation for them,” solicitor Aime Allan said.

“He had seen both of these women before, it started off as a carry on, waving back and forward. He accepts that on these occasions he went too far and his behaviour was stupid.

“He is embarrassed to find himself in front of the court for sexual matters.”

Depute fiscal Robbie Brown said the witness drove away and phoned the police after the second incident.

“The complainer was in her car and the accused had his left leg out. He was looking directly at her and grabbed hold of the bottom of his dressing gown and exposed himself.

“She drove away and reported the matter to the police,” Mr Brown told the court.

“I am satisfied that your motivation was sexual,” the sheriff said.
