Police have named a man who died in a major fire at a Perth store.
Jamie East, of Perth, was killed during the blaze at B&M at St Catherine’s Retail Park on Saturday, August 24.
Police say the 33-year-old’s family are being given “appropriate support”.
Last Friday the force said they were investigating the possibility that someone had died in the fire.
A man had been seen on CCTV entering the building shortly before flames ripped through the building. He was reported missing following the incident.
A Tayside Police Division statement reads: “Police Scotland can confirm the identity of the man who died in a fire at St Catherine’s Retail Park, Perth on Saturday, August 24 as Jamie East (33) from Perth.
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Mr East’s family are being provided with appropriate support, and have asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.”
Locals have been paying tribute to Mr East on social media.

Irene Mcfadyen added: “Thoughts with his family at this sad time.”
Kate Duthie wrote: “That’s heartbreaking. My thoughts go out to the family. RIP.”
Firefighters and police were called to the shop just after 2am on August 24.
About 50 firefighters spent hours tackling the inferno, with 10 appliances and three aerial platforms sent to the scene.
Animals had to be rescued from the Pets At Home store next door to B&M.
The fire is being treated as suspicious.
