Protesters held a “vigil for democracy” in Perth city centre on Monday evening.
A group gathered on Tay Street with EU flags and banners, hoping to catch the eye of commuters.
The demonstration was organised by the Perth For Europe group which was formed to call for the UK to remain in the European Union or, failing that, to demand the “softest of Brexits”.
Placards urged passers-by to “defend democracy” and “resist the parliament shutdown”.
Spokeswoman Susannah Rae said the there was plenty of support from passing motorists.
“This was to make a point and send a clear message,” she said. “We wanted people to see that there was resistance.”
For the last two weeks, the group has been out on Perth High Street, handing out postcards that people are urged to send to their MPs.
