A main road in Perthshire is to be closed for more than a week for resurfacing works – leaving drivers facing a 16-mile detour.
Perth and Kinross Council will be working to improve the A926 High Street, Rattray, from The Cross to the 30mph speed limit signs. The works will begin on September 26 and last for eight days.
For the duration, traffic will be diverted via Blairgowrie, Coupar Angus, Meigle and Alyth before rejoining the A926 on the other side of the works. Access for property owners will be maintained.
A spokeswoman for the council said: “We would apologise for the inconvenience that will be caused while the works are under way but this will be kept to a minimum.”
Stagecoach has announced that the 57 bus will continue to serve Blairgowrie, with a shuttle bus running between Meigle, New Alyth and Alyth.
