Perthshire baker Michael Chakraverty has survived another week in the Great British Bake Off as he impressed judges in dairy week.
Former Perth Academy pupil Michael, 26, raised in Scone, took a risk with his cheesecake surprise, using two types of dairy. Michael got emotional when it was described as tasting great, but looking “a mess”.
He also made a Flag of Indian Mishti, which was described as stylish and delicious.
But it was not a good week for Phil who has become the fourth baker to leave.
The driver and oldest baker came unstuck during a closely-fought week on the Channel 4 show, which saw Steph named star baker.
Phil struggled out of his comfort zone to attempt Bundt cake in the signature, a centuries-old dessert in the technical, and an Indian milk dessert in the showstopper.
Phil said: “My worst moment in the tent has to be leaving, as I was a bit shocked to be going.
“But at the end of the day someone has to go, it is the way of the competition.”
Bake Off returns to Channel 4 at 8pm on September 24.
