Blairgowrie High School music pupils received tips from a master when Scots folk legend Dougie MacLean visited their class on Friday.
The singer-songwriter and Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame member helped students write lyrics and produce melodies using a variety of instruments.
The session was part of celebrations to commemorate the life of local poet Hamish Henderson.
Dougie is best known for writing Scotland’s unofficial anthem Caledonia and has fans across the world.
