Police have launched an investigation following reports of man approaching a young girl and attempting to entice her into his car in a quiet Perthshire village.
The incident occurred on Meadowview Drive in Inchture on Friday evening, less than half a mile from the local primary school.
A relative of the young girl took to social media to make people aware of the incident, saying the child had been “approached by a man trying to get her into his car (on Friday) in Inchture.”
The relative described an “an old grey car” and said the man was wearing a navy blue bandanna.
Investigating officers have been questioning people who were in the area at the time of the incident.
Inspector Jon Anton from Perth Community Policing Team said: “We received a report about a man in what is described as an old looking, small grey car speaking to a young girl in the Meadowview Drive area of Inchture on Friday September 20 at around 7pm and enquiries have been carried out.
“We will continue to liaise with the public and anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting incident 3821 of September 20.
“Similarly if you were the driver of the grey car, please come forward and speak to us so that we can establish the full circumstances.”
