A man accused of being involved in a £500,000 jewellery raid at Gleneagles hotel has appeared in court after he was arrested in South America.
Dean Jones is alleged to have been involved in a smash and grab at the luxury Perthshire hotel, in which dozens of Rolex watches were taken from the Mappin and Webb boutique.
The 38-year-old was arrested in Brazil in connection with the armed raid, which took place in June 2017.
Officers from Police Scotland are understood to have flown to South America to bring him back to Scotland to face charges.
Jones, from London, appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Friday accused of assault and robbery plus three breaches of the firearms act.
He is also charged with two assaults, two housebreakings, two vehicle thefts and two claims of reset.
Jones is also alleged to have attempted to pervert the course of justice.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody ahead of another court appearance this week.
