A man has died after being found unconscious in the hills of Glenshee.
Mountain Rescue members were scrambled to the scene, believed to be north of the Glenshee ski centre, on Saturday morning.
The man had been discovered by fellow walkers.
Emergency first responders were unable to save him and his body was airlifted from the hillside.
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal but police said they were not treating the death as suspicious.
The man’s identity has not been released.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At 10.30am yesterday police received a call that an unconscious man had been found on the hills near Glenshee by walkers.
“Mountain Rescue was commenced but sadly the man had died. He was airlifted off the hills and next of kin were informed.”
Detective Constable Mullen, of Police Scotland, added: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this time.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
