Emergency services were called to the Aberfeldy area after a person ran into trouble on the River Tay on Monday.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the watercourse near the town just after 4pm amid reports of a canoe capsizing.
A male, whose age is unknown, is said to have been spotted in trouble on the river.
Locals reported seeing a number of emergency service vehicles responding to the incident.
However the canoeist was uninjured and was traced “safe and well” in Kenmore.
A police spokeswoman said: “Just after 4pm today emergency services were alerted to reports of a canoe capsizing on the River Tay near to Aberfeldy.
“Police Scotland officers attended along with other services.
“A male was located safe and well near to Kenmore.”
