A number of Scotland fans have publicly backed the Auld Enemy in the World Cup final, including legendary lock Doddie Weir.

Writing in The Telegraph, the one-time British and Irish Lions player said he had been swayed from his “anyone but” approach by England’s performance against the All Blacks, and his own time living south of the border.

He added: “As a staunch Scotland supporter, that is a rule I have abided by most of life, but as much as it pains me to write this, I am going to be making an exception this weekend for the World Cup final.”
