The Met Office has issued a weather warning for Tayside and Fife as the area prepares to be battered by a downpour this weekend.
The forecaster says up to 1.5in of “persistent” and “occasionally heavy” rain could land across Courier country in the coming days, with flooding possible.
Melting snow in areas is expected to exacerbate the conditions, with more than 3in of rainfall possible on higher ground.
The yellow warning is in effect from 4pm on Saturday until 9am on Sunday.
The Met Office rain warning states that flooding could affect “homes and businesses” with public transport likely to be affected.
A statement from the forecaster reads: “Persistent and occasionally heavy rain is expected to develop across northeastern Scotland from Saturday afternoon.
“Rainfall accumulations of generally 20-40 mm are likely through Aberdeenshire, Angus, parts of Tayside, Fife, Easter Ross and Caithness, with potentially 60-80 mm across some high ground in addition to a gradual thaw of snow.
