A man who ate his parents’ plants has been shown mercy by a sheriff.
Christopher Shevlin, 27, was asked to leave his parents’ home in Banknock, Stirlingshire, on Thursday after a falling-out. Later, he returned, and demanded something to eat.
He added: “If you’re not going to feed me, I’ll eat the plants.”
Prosecutor Susan Campbell said: “He began pulling up the plants outside.”
Shevlin was arrested.
Appearing from custody at Falkirk Sheriff Court the next day, Shevlin, of Hollandbush Crescent, Banknock, admitted threatening and abusive behaviour.
Kevin Douglas, defending, said: “He was hungry.”
Shevlin, who had no previous convictions, was admonished.
