Hundreds of people across Tayside and Fife took to their doorways and windows as part of a UK-wide salute for NHS staff on the frontline of the fight against covid-19.
Housebound locals from Dundee to Dunfermline briefly broke away from the virus-imposed lockdown to salute the nation’s health workers as part of the Clap for Carers campaign on Thursday.
The mass round of applause took place at 8pm.
Windows and doors were swung open as Courier country united for an an epic show of support for the NHS.
Everyone in the UK was invited to take part in the salute.
Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were among those applauding the NHS as part of the Clap For Carers initiative.
A video of the three young royals clapping was posted on the Kensingtonroyal Instagram account.
The caption said: “To all the doctors, nurses, carers, GPs, pharmacists, volunteers and other NHS staff working tirelessly to help those affected by #COVID19: thank you. #ClapForOurCarers #ClapForCarers #ThankYouNHS #ClapForNHS”

Landmarks across the UK were also lit up blue during initiative, which is part of the #lightitblue campaign.

Prior to Thursday night Gary White and Chuck Crampton, who jointly started the campaign, said in a joint statement: “The events and entertainment industry finds itself in an unprecedented state of enforced inaction.
“The best thing we can do – apart from staying at home – is to use our skills and networks to say thank you to everyone who is supporting the NHS and risking their own health to help others during this pandemic.”
