An oil worker who was airlifted from a North Sea oil platform suffering from suspected coronavirus symptoms has died.
As reported in Energy Voice, the man – who worked for Dyce-based contractor Stork – is understood to have been removed from Total’s Elgin platform earlier this week.
He was taken to Sheffield, and is said to have died at home on Wednesday.
The man is believed to have been airlifted from the platform on Monday after becoming unwell.
A spokesperson for Stork said: “Our deepest condolences and sympathies are with his family, friends and teammates.”
