Locals across Tayside and Fife enjoyed incredible views of a rare “pink supermoon” overnight.
Conditions were perfect to photograph the lunar spectacle across Courier country from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
The moon appeared up to 14% larger and 30% brighter during the event, which peaked at 3.35am.
Despite the pink supermoon label, there is no colour change to the appearance of the lunar surface.
The term comes from a northern Native American reference to an early-blooming wildflower, which starts to pop up in the US and Canada at the beginning of spring.
April’s supermoon is the third of the year, following the worm moon on March 9.
The next full moon is referred to as the Flower Moon, which takes place on May 7.
Locals across Tayside and Fife took to social media to post their images of the pink supermoon.
