Courier Country will experience warmer than average weather as Scotland moves into its first weekend of Phase two.
Experts say that the region will bask in sunshine, with temperatures reaching up to 20 degrees Celsius.
Although much of the weekend will be basking in sunshine, Sunday will see Tayside and Fife experience sporadic showers.
The pleasant weather comes as Scottish people gear up to be able to meet with more family and friends.
The country began its four-phase plan for ending lockdown on May 28 when some lockdown restrictions were eased, with emotional, if socially-distanced, reunions taking place between families and friends.
The First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced on Thursday that further easing of restrictions would be able to take place.
Martin Bowles, a meteorologist at the Met Office, said the temperatures expected this weekend were “higher than average” for the time of year.
He said: “This weekend will be reasonably pleasant. During the day on Saturday there will be sunny spells with light winds.
“There may be one or two light showers in the Lothian and Borders area but not in Tayside and Fife.
“It won’t be quite as warm as it has been lately but it will still be pleasant enough – we are talking about 20 degrees. It’s above average for this time of year.
“There will be quite a lot of rain overnight and lingering into Sunday morning but that will clear quickly and the rest of the day will be sunshine and showers, with emphasis on the sunshine.”
