Major traffic issues in Aberdeen city centre as road is closed by police

Motorists in Aberdeen city centre are facing massive delays this afternoon due to a road being shut by police.

Virginia Street northbound has been closed off, meaning traffic need to take diversions to get around.

As a result, Market Street is severely congested, with motorists facing a 25 to 30 minute wait.

It is not known why the road has been closed off yet.

Police and the council have been reached out to for comment.
