A man has been detained by police after the bomb squad were called to an attempted robbery in Aberdeen.
The fire service and paramedics were also called to the scene at a commercial unit in Springhill Road at about 9.15pm on Monday.
Police said they were called to a suspected housebreaking but an explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) team were called in when a suspicious package was found in the building.
The EOD unit have now stood down and a man has been detained by police over the incident.
The road is expected to be closed throughout Tuesday but there is no threat to the public, police said.
A force spokesman said: “Officers along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Ambulance Service attended a suspected attempted housebreaking incident at a commercial premises in Springhill Road, Aberdeen.
“On arrival, police found an item located at the premises and as a result an EOD unit from Edinburgh was requested to attend.
“They have since stood down.
“A cordon is now in place in the immediate vicinity of the building and there is no threat to the public.
“A male is currently detained and Springhill Road will be closed for most of the day at this location.”
