The Courier has been named Regional newspaper of the Year at the newsawards 2016.
The judges’ citation praised our paper as a “Superbly produced product… Free of clutter and with excellent content.”
The judges also highlighted the paper’s “modern lines, good use of white space, consistent quality and excellent production values.”
Other papers shortlisted in the category were Leicester Mercury, London Evening Standard, Shropshire Star, The News Portsmouth, Western Morning News and the Press and Journal.
It was a night of success at the London event for Dundee-based DC Thomson which also won Printed Innovation of the Year and took the title of Newspaper Printer of the Year.
The newsawards were formerly the Newspaper Awards and are peer-judged, celebrating the best in news media print, technology and business innovation.
