Police have made an arrest over the death of an Aberdeen man almost 40 years ago.
The body of 41-year-old Kazi Ahmed was found at a flat on the city’s Rosemount Viaduct on October 10 1978.
Police Scotland said a man aged 62 has been arrested in Birmingham in connection with his death.
He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
Mr Ahmed was well known locally as the manager of the Raj Dulal restaurant on Dee Street, the Press and Journal reported.
A police statement said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 62-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the death of 41-year-old Kazi Ahmed at a flat on Rosemount Viaduct, Aberdeen, on October 10 1978.
“The man was arrested in the Birmingham area on Saturday May 7.”
