Woman in court accused of murdering toddler

A woman has appeared in court charged with murdering a 14-month-old girl.

Inaya Ahmed died at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow on Wednesday April 20.

Sadia Ahmed, 26, was charged with murder when she appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Ahmed, from the Drumchapel area of Glasgow, made no plea or declaration during the petition hearing, the Crown Office confirmed.

She was remanded in custody and the case was committed for further examination.

Ahmed is expected to return to the court for a further hearing in private on Thursday next week.
