“We are offering a substantial reward and are urging anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers anonymously. We don’t ask for any personal details, you won’t have to speak to the police, and you won’t have to go to court. Just tell us what you know, not who you are.”
Police have previously described the case as a “brutal murder”.
Officers investigating the death appealed to trace a burgundy car and its occupants seen in the Rothienorman area on March 11.
They also appealed for two sets of men who met Mr McKandie the same day to come forward.
In the days after the attack, Mr McKandie’s shocked brother, William McKandie, appealed for information at a press conference and said “somebody somewhere” must know what happened to his brother.
He said: “My sister and I are now left with questions about why someone would want to hurt him, what did they want?”
