In a historic vote, members of Royal Troon, the host of the 2016 Open Championship, have voted in favour of admitting women. Troon was the only club on the Open rota to have a male-only membership policy. A vote took place at a meeting on Friday evening where members voted “overwhelmingly” to welcome women to the club.
