Thomas Moore, 42, had been helping pals clear out a flat in Beechwood Court, Aberdeen, when he committed the offence. A shocked neighbour who spotted the settee whizzing past her window on Sunday dialled 999 as she feared it could have killed someone. Defence agent Alex Burn said it was an “act of insanity”. Aberdeen sheriff Ian Wallace jailed Moore, of Urquhart Road, Aberdeen, for four months and 20 days.
