A body found in woods has been identified as that of a teenage boy who went missing around seven weeks ago.
Scott Diver disappeared from his home in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, on September 17, sparking large-scale efforts to trace him.
A body found last Thursday afternoon in a wooded area at nearby Old Kilpatrick has now been formally identified as that of the 16-year-old.
Police Scotland said in a statement: “The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.”
Efforts to find the missing teenager previously involved officers speaking to passers-by in places he was known to visit near his home.
A message posted by his family on a Facebook page created to find Scott said: “Sadly today we have received the news we’ve been dreading, wee Scott has been found and heart-breakingly he’s no longer with us.
“We thank everybody for their support and help over the last seven weeks.”
