A man has been ordered to appear in court charged with repeatedly being naked on an iconic Scottish peak.
Paul Edney, 56, is alleged to have been publicly naked on 1371-foot Dumyat Hill, near Stirling, on six occasions since 2013.
The hill, which towers above the national Wallace Monument and Stirling University, is part of the Ochils range, and is popular with walkers.
It is alleged members of the public were present on the hill on each occasion that Edney was allegedly there in the buff, on June 19 2013, June 20 2013, September 4 2013, June 9 2015, and on May 9 and August 29 this year.
At Stirling Sheriff Court, Edney, of Dollar, Clackmannanshire, who was not personally present, pleaded not guilty by letter to six charges alleging he committed offences of public indecency by nakedness.
Sheriff Christopher Shead continued the case for trial on March 27 with a preliminary hearing on March 7.
In Pictish times, Dumyat Hill was home to a hill fort occupied by the Maeatae tribe, who led two serious revolts against the Roman Empire, in 210 and 211 AD.
Their hill fort on Dumyat’s secondary summit, Castle Law, is still clearly visible.
