Locals in Tayside and Fife will have to enjoy today’s glorious sunshine while they can, as forecasters warn of a thunderstorm tomorrow.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of heavy rain, hail and thunder and lightning; which is due to hit both areas on Saturday.
It comes after a village in the north-east of Scotland was named the hottest place in the UK yesterday, with Aboyne reaching a high of 28C.
A Met Office statement said: “Heavy, thundery showers on Saturday afternoon and evening have the potential to bring localised flooding, hail and frequent lightning.”
Today the mercury is expected to reach new heights south of the border, with 30C expected in part of England.
