The east coast of Scotland will be hit by severe rain and strong wind, with forecasters warning drivers to prepare forĀ “difficult” conditions.
The Met Office has placed a yellow warning with “persistent and heavy rain” expected inĀ Lothian, the Borders and Dumfries and Galloway after conditions took a turn for the worse.
Tayside is also being affected by the downpour, with heavy rain hitting Dundee this afternoon.
However the Met Office predicts the rain will become “light” moving into the evening, with the possibility of a dry spell between 6pm and 7pm during the city’s much-anticipated Little Mix gig on the waterfront.

The Met Office warning will be in place until 8pm tonight.
A Met Office statement said: “Rain will become persistent and heavy at times during Wednesday night, continuing on Thursday morning before easing in the afternoon.
“Difficult driving conditions are likely due to the heavy rain accompanied by strong northerly winds during Thursday with some disruption to transport possible.”
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) has also placed a flood alert on Edinburgh, Lothian and the Borders.
