Scots chef Nick Nairn has been left black and blue after being attacked on a busy north-east street.
The celebrity was assaulted by two males on Union Street in Aberdeen on Friday at about 1am after leaving his Cook School on Back Wynd.
The 58-year-old posted images of the injuries to his face to Twitter on Friday morning along with an appeal for witnesses.
He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident, which took place near to Union Street’s junction with with Union Row.
Nairn, originally from Stirling, said he is “a bit peeved but fine”.
He added: “I was assaulted this morning on Union Street walking home from my Cook School, two feisty chaps did this to me and ran off chased by@joolsfor.
“If anyone saw anything can u call @policescotland on 101 they were great as were ambulance and hospital services.”
Investigating officer PC Alan Gordon said: “With festive celebrations ongoing, Aberdeen city centre was busy last night with people out socialising.
“I would ask that if anyone saw this incident to contact us. In particular, we believe two males wearing black jackets and jeans may have information that could assist us with our enquiries.
“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 169 of December 22.”

Messages of support for Nairn have been flooding in online.
Aberdeen author Stuart MacBride was among those to tweet the chef. He said: “I hope you’re feeling better soon, Nick – this shouldn’t happen in Aberdeen or anywhere else.”
Douglas Gillespie said: “That is atrocious chef. Take care and hope you feel better really soon. What a dreadful thing to happen to some like you who does so much for others.”
