A former Scottish football star is in a critical condition in hospital after being found seriously injured in Aberdeen.
Neale Cooper, 54, who starred for the Dons in their 1980s heydays, was found collapsed in the communal stairwell of flats in the Ferguson Court area of the city at around 1.45am on Sunday.
Cooper, who also had spells with Aston Villa, Rangers and Dunfermline, was taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where it is understood he is on a life support machine.
Police are investigating the cause of the retired footballer’s injuries, however, they are not believed to be suspicious.
