The Met Office say flooding, lightning strikes and travel disruption could hit the area.
The weather warning states: “Heavy, and possibly thundery, showers may cause some travel disruption and flooding in places during Wednesday afternoon and evening.
“Some flooding of a few homes and businesses likely, leading to some damage to buildings or structures.
“Probably some damage to a few buildings and structures from lightning strikes. There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and, leading to longer journey times by car and bus.
“Delays to train services are possible. Some short term loss of power and other services is likely.”
The latest weather warning is in addition to a separate thunderstorm one in effect from noon until 9pm on Thursday.
The forecaster say this day’s weather could bring power cuts and floodwater which could cause a “danger to life”.
