Man dead after industrial accident at Asda in Scots town

A man has died following an industrial accident at an Aberdeenshire supermarket.
As reported in The Press and Journal, emergency services were called to the Asda on Longside Road at around 12.30pm on Tuesday to assist an injured man.
Police have now confirmed that a 58-year-old man died in the incident.
The supermarket was closed off as police and paramedics dealt with the accident.
Detective Inspector Sam Buchan said: “First and foremost, my thoughts are with this man’s family at this very sad time. His next of kin has been informed.
“Inquiries are at a very early stage and we are carrying these out in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive.
“Thank you again to the public for your patience while our investigation continues.”
A Health and Safety Executive (HSE) spokeswoman said: “HSE is aware of an incident at Asda in Peterhead and is currently liaising with Police Scotland.”
