The driver was said to have sustained minor injuries.
The post box has come completely out of the ground, despite the incident being described as a “slow speed collision”.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police attended Dunblane High Street at around 7.50pm following a report of a slow speed collision where a Mercedes car struck a Royal Mail post box.
“The female driver of the car sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.
“Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
A Royal Mail spokeswoman said: “We’re aware that the Andy Murray gold postbox has been knocked down and will look to reinstate it as soon as possible.”
