A flood alert has been issued for Dundee and Angus after thunderstorms were predicted across the region.
Downpour are expected to hit the local area on Tuesday evening, prompting action from the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa).
Sepa says urban areas and roads will be most vulnerable during the adverse weather.
A statement from the organisation reads: “A flood alert has been issued for Dundee and Angus. Thundery showers during Tuesday evening could cause flooding impacts from surface water.
“Particularly at risk are urban areas and the transport network. There may be difficult driving conditions. Due to the localised nature of the showers, impacts may be isolated, with not all locations being affected.”
The Met Office warning reads: “There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
“There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life and there is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads.
“Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
“There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
“Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.”
