Despite their crunch game on Thursday – one Welsh fan and an English supporter showed that true love conquers all as Newport lad Darren Crandon popped the question to his Brighton-born girlfriend Emma White.

The romantic Parisian setting did the trick as Emma said ‘yes’ as the surrounding fans let out a cheer.

The Welsh have proved themselves to be a romantic bunch at this year’s tournament – giving a newly married couple in Bordeaux the kind of reception they normally save for a Gareth Bale free-kick

The French capital has also taken the partying Republic of Ireland to its heart.

They’ve proved a hit after singing with Swedish fans before their Group E match at the weekend.

Even the French police aren’t safe from their affections.

The Northern Irish fans are also getting in on the act. After a 30-year absence from tournament football they’re making up for lost time and have been partying hard in Nice as they enjoy the carnival atmosphere.
