Author and adventurer Mark Beaumont – the man who cycled the Americas and the world, who has rowed the Arctic and survived the Atlantic, is making a slightly safer trip – to Fife!
The round the world cyclist, ultra endurance adventurer, TV presenter and broadcaster will be speaking at the Lochgelly Centre on Wednesday November 30.
The 33-year-old’s first taste of adventure was at the age of 11 when he decided to cycle across Scotland and his first world record was aged 23 when he cycled 18,297 miles (29,446 km) around the world, taking 194 days and 17 hours – smashing the previous record by an impressive 182 days.
More cycling adventures followed in 2010 when he completed a quest to cycle the Americas, cycling from Anchorage, Alaska to Southern Argentina.
In the summer of 2011 Beaumont joined a six-man team to row the Arctic and was rescued from a capsize in the Atlantic in 2012.
