Tony Blair has thrown his support behind Strictly star and ex-Labour MP Ed Balls.
The former shadow chancellor remains in the competition entering week ten and has become the unlikely star of the dancefloor this series as he has managed to evade the dreaded bottom two each weekend, despite repeatedly coming bottom of the leaderboard.
His pony-dancing salsa to Gangnam Style was described as a “national moment” by BBC director-general Lord Hall earlier this week.

Politicians from across the spectrum have offered their support to Ed and his partner Katya Jones, with the latest being the former Labour prime minister.
Blair told the New Statesman he had “huge admiration” for his former minister, adding it “requires courage”.
“I absolutely take my hat off to him and I think he’s been brilliant.
“My family’s completely devoted to Strictly, so even if I didn’t want to watch it I’d be watching it.”
Asked if he would ever take to the dancefloor for the BBC programme, Blair said: “No, I absolutely would not dare to do that.”
