The so-called ‘flag burning challenge’ follows comments made by Trump that suggested criminalising the act.
Some Americans are taking part in the unusual challenge in protest against statements made by Donald Trump this week that those who burn the US flag should be imprisoned or lose their citizenship.
Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag – if they do, there must be consequences – perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!

The flag burning challenge looks to have been started by activists outside of Trump Hotel in New York and a handful of others have copied it by setting light to the stars and stripes and posting videos on social media.

Others have looked on with disdain.
While I respect your 1A right to burn the American Flag, I can still use my 1A right to condemn your stupidity #flagburningchallenge

Either way, we can’t quite see it having the universal appeal of the Mannequin Challenge.
