MPs aren’t exactly known for experimenting with the boundaries of style and fashion when they attend the Commons Chamber, but one man is pushing the sartorial boat out.
Conservative MP Peter Bone turned up wearing a ‘crazy hat’ in the House of Commons today.
Mr Bone’s stunt sparked giggles among his fellow MPs, while Cabinet minister David Lidington compared his odd appearance to a Christmas elf.
However, Speaker John Bercow was less than impressed as it flouted the strict uniform of shirts, jackets and ties that is usually enforced in the Commons Chamber.
Even though the Speaker may not have been thrilled by Bercow’s brightly coloured accessory, some people were rather impressed by it.
