What does a Scotsman do when he has the whole of Wembley Stadium to himself?
Bagpiper Alasdair Turner of Tide Lines, a four-piece band that fuses pop with traditional highland music, answered the question with this glorious rendition of Flower of Scotland.
The group were in London to play at high street retailer River Island’s Christmas bash. “Having a lovely time here at Wembley,” says one of his band mates in the clip. “Oh, what’s this I hear?”
The stadium might have been virtually empty, but it’s one of the few small victories Scotland has claimed since beating the home side 1–0 back in 1999.
It was a cheeky opportunity at the start of a busy weekend for the band, who boomeranged back up country to play gigs in Forfar and Aberdeen.
Mr Turner, who originally hails from Alness, next plays the pipes with Tide Lines at Corran Halls in Oban on 30 December.
