Today marks a very special date among fans of the Harry Potter franchise.
Hundreds of Potterheads have gathered in Kings Cross Station, London, to mark the date the Boy Who Lived waved his youngest son, Albus Severus Potter, off to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the first time.
Fans cheered, many with wands in the air, as the clocks struck 11am; which is the exact time the Hogwarts Express would depart for the school.

The “Nineteen Years Later” epilogue was the last chapter in the seventh and final book in the series, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. It was set today (September 1, 2017).
In the books, with the Battle of Hogwarts long behind them, Harry and his wife Ginny Weasley arrive at Platform Nine and Three Quarters to see their three children onto the Hogwarts Express.
He is joined by best friends Hermione Grainger and Ron Weasley and their two children, Hugo and Rose.
Author JK Rowling is among those to honour the date.
