Coronation Street star Liz Dawn dies aged 77

Coronation Street star Liz Dawn has died aged 77.

Her family announced the death of the actress, who played Vera Duckworth in the show for more than 30 years, today.

She passed away surrounded by her relatives on Monday evening.

A family statement paid tribute to the “incredible” actress, who they said “died peacefully”.

They added: “She has been the love, light and inspiration in our lives and we are bereft at her passing.”
