About 7.5 million people tuned in to watch Rahul Mandal be crowned the winner of The Great British Bake Off on Tuesday night.

However not everyone agrees with the judges’ decision – with fans taking to Twitter to demand “justice” for fellow finalist Kim-Joy Hewlett. Others have claimed that Ruby Bhogal was the best baker of all three.

The tense finale saw the finalists tasked with cooking pitta breads and three dips on an open campfire, among other challenges.

Disaster struck in the final challenge when the 32C heat in the tent caused a storage jar on Rahul’s workbench to shatter, sending glass everywhere, meaning he had to restart his bake.
