Fife dairy farmer John Adam has died at the age of 84.
Born at Scotston of Usan near Montrose, Mr Adam later moved with his family to Kinshaldy, Leuchars, and then Thistleford in Cowdenbeath.
He left school at the age of 14 to work on the farm and joined the local Young Farmers Club (YFC), which he chaired for a spell.
One of his main interests was the seed and root show.
It was through the YFC that he met Kay and the couple were married in Burntisland Parish Church in 1964.
They started their married life at Earlseat Farm on Wemyss Estate and moved to Tullybreck in 1969, where they stayed until 1992, when they left for South Glassmount near Kinghorn.
Mr Adam, who worked on the farm until weeks before his death, was a keen gardener and loved dancing.
He is survived by wife Kay, children John, Katherine and Heather, and his grandchildren.
