The early publication of Labour’s manifesto was an opportunity for Jeremy Corbyn to revive his party’s stuttering campaign and apply some pressure on the Tories over actual policy.
Unfortunately, it descended into farce when it was leaked.
It got worse when the car Mr Corbyn was travelling in hit a BBC cameraman.
Images of a bandaged video operative being taken into an ambulance are not a good look for any campaign.
Then again it’s not been plain-sailing for Theresa May, who sought to turn the gun on the SNP by saying they had been fined over election expenses as well.
A decent line of attack, you might think, glossing over the fact it is not actually true.
