Each week, we will take you on a trip back in time with a selection of photographs picked from DC Thomson’s vast archives. This week, the focus is on the East Neuk village of Pittenweem.
Our first image shows children being entertained by Sylvia Troon’s World of Puppets at the Pittenweem Festival. The photo was taken on August 6 1988.
The second photo dates from August 1985 and shows The Killing Time being filmed on location in the village’s streets.
In the third picture, from July 7 1959, summer is in full swing and people strip down to their bathing suits for a swim in the sea. Doesn’t it look refreshing!
The fourth photo shows boats at Pittenweem Harbour on January 5 1974.
A fish auction run by William Garven is in full swing at the harbour in the fifth photo, taken on February 7 1959.
The final photo, taken on August 7 1974, shows horses and riders lining up to be judged at the Pittenweem Horse Show.
