Each week, we will take you on a trip back in time with a selection of photographs picked from DC Thomson’s vast archives. This week, the focus is on Crieff.
Our first image shows people having a fun, summer’s day out in the town’s park. The picture was taken on July 17 1950 – 70 years ago!
The second photo dates from October 14 1966 and shows traffic – a few cars and a bike – moving through the town’s streets. It’s much busier these days!
In the third picture, from February 28 1989, an order for 10,000 flagons for use on board the QE2 ocean liner was being processed at the town’s Thistle Potteries.
The fourth picture shows Glen Turret Dam, a few miles from the town, being constructed. The picture was taken on April 26 1964.
The final image, from April 21 1981, shows Towser, Glenturret Distillery’s official cat, celebrating his 18th birthday in VIP style with cake and a tipple.
